Description
Mustard oil (especially unrefined kachi ghani or “cold-pressed” oil) is rich in monounsaturated and essential omega-3 fats. It contains a high proportion of oleic acid (MUFA) and a notable amount of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA, omega-3). Its pungent aroma comes from allyl isothiocyanate, which may give it mild antimicrobial and analgesic properties. Mustard oil is also a good source of natural antioxidants (vitamin E/tocopherols). Health benefits: Traditional and preliminary studies suggest mustard oil supports heart health (via MUFA and balanced omega-6/omega-3 ratio) and skin/hair conditioning. It may also relieve joint pain when applied topically (due to ALA and pungent compounds)
